Survivor Story 1
Raised inside the sex industry in the richest county in the state of TN, I had no hope that I could have a normal life. This was the only life I’d known. At a young age I fell for a man who promised to love and care for me. He promised to take me away from all of this. That was a lie. He became my trafficker. He was a harsh man, transporting me all over Middle TN to supply the “services” demanded by those who fuel the commercial sex industry, even though I was only a teenager. One day I begged and prayed for freedom, and freedom came! It came in the form of police and the Rescue 1 team of advocates. After coming to live at the Grace Oasis safe house, I have been able to transform my hopelessness into freedom. Though the journey has been tough, I am thriving in my newfound freedom. I hope to break the cycle of exploitation that has been a part of my family for generations as I raise my daughters in freedom and love alongside my new Rescue 1 family!
