Survivor Story 2
I was sexually abused by my uncle and cousins. Even my own mother victimized me – I saw her receiving money while sending me to entertain a group of men drinking alcohol. Before Rescue 1 came, I was sad, depressed, and in pain. I thought “I’m not worthy to be loved. Nobody cares. There’s no hope for me.”
But when a Rescue 1 advocate came with the police and I learned about their intention of helping me get free, I went with them. It’s a great relief. I’m already sleeping right, eating good foods and feeling safe. I am surrounded by people who love me and care for me. They taught me to cook, to clean, to wash my clothes, and to take care of myself. Above all, I learned about Jesus Christ. He loves me unconditionally. He cares for me and died for me.
