A behind-the-scenes look at the messy and miraculous work of Rescue 1 Global.

The Brutal Reality
Today wasn’t a rescue — it was the brutal reality of the aftermath of a life exploited, controlled, manipulated, and enslaved. It was one of those days that reminded us exactly why Rescue 1 Global exists — and why the work to prevent, rescue, restore, and redeem is both a sacred calling and a costly burden.
Our team spent five hours traveling and another eleven hours packing up, moving and storing the apartment of a survivor who is courageously walking the long road of recovery.
Together, we boxed up three lives — two bedrooms filled with memories and contradictions.
There were children’s clothes and toys, family games, Bibles, and Christian discipleship books — signs of hope and healing. And yet, in the midst of what seemed secure and normal were the remnants of a dark and hidden life: very seductive and objectifying wardrobe, drugs, alcohol, sex industry toys and paraphernalia, and a stripper pole — the tools and trophies of a world that had enslaved her and a lasting grip on her identity and soul.
Where Light Confronts Darkness
Among the chains and tools of control within this descent into deeper darkness and bondage, we discovered books on witchcraft and extremely wicked and sexual novels and videos that do not deserve to be named — stories that glorify and normalize wicked seduction, demonic dominance, and distorted love. These materials applaud the very wickedness that ensnares so many souls — the seductive nature of exploitation falsely adorned as “empowerment”.
Seeing that dynamic dichotomy together was sobering and heartbreaking. It was as if we could see the invisible spiritual war being waged in plain sight. It revealed the reality of darkness and deception that shape and enslave the heart — a heart misled, manipulated and indoctrinated to find worth in bondage and identity in brokenness. They were reminders that trafficking doesn’t just chain the body — it seeks to enslave the soul.
As the team packed and cleaned, someone quietly said, “I’m not going to feel clean for a while.”
That honest, gut-level statement summed up what we were all feeling — the weight of standing in the residue of sin and pain. But even in that heaviness, the presence of God was there, cleansing and redeeming what the enemy had tried to destroy.

It was emotional.
It was heavy.
It was difficult.

Chains, Temptation, and Spiritual Warfare
At times, our team felt grieved and burdened by the tall barriers to freedom that sin had built around her. Sorting through her belongings wasn’t just about what to keep or throw away — it was about helping her leave behind the chains of her old life so she could step fully into freedom.
We could see, right at our fingertips, that we had entered a spiritual war zone for the life and souls of this woman and her children.
But those chains aren’t easily broken — and they’re never far away. The past can whisper through familiar objects, sounds, or memories, tempting the heart to look back. Sin, self, and Satan work subtly, drawing us toward the old life we’ve been freed from.
That’s why we must remain diligent watchmen, continually putting on the full armor of God, and guarding our hearts from becoming lukewarm or complacent. Freedom is not maintained by comfort, but by constant surrender to Christ — by choosing, every day, to walk in the light.
With every box sealed and every bag of brokenness thrown out, we felt something shift, something change. The oppressive nature of slavery and the domain of the principalities that once controlled this home and family began to lift. The air felt lighter. Hope started to breathe again in that small apartment. The Light began to reign and take His rightful place. The prison walls of that apartment became holy ground.
We packed over 30 boxes, 20 trash bags, multiple rolls of tape, countless latex gloves, hours of prayer, and moments spent hiding in corners to fight back tears of sorrow and righteous anger.
It was deeply overwhelming at times — but even more than that, we witnessed a visible, heavenly picture of what rescue and restoration truly look like.
The Ongoing Mission
This is the work Rescue 1 Global does every day.
It’s messy, raw, and real — but it’s also miraculous.
Since 2013, Rescue 1 Global has been on mission — galvanizing leaders, educating communities, training professionals, partnering and mobilizing teams that serve the most vulnerable every week locally and around the world.
Together, we’ve touched over 167,000 lives and delivered nearly 400,000 Christ-centered services — the kind of ministry engagement we do daily!
Each ONE tells a story like this one — of a woman, a child, or a family being lifted from bondage to Freedom.
This Is What Redemption Looks Like
It’s not glamorous. It’s not easy.
But it’s holy work — because in the ashes of exploitation, Jesus builds something beautiful.

The Call to Remain Vigilant and Holy
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5
We could feel the living reality of this truth in that apartment — the light of Christ piercing through the remnants of despair.
Yet even more deeply, the words of Peter echoed in our hearts as a charge to remain alert and faithful:
“Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’”
— 1 Peter 1:13–16
We are at war — not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of darkness.
We must remain prepared to serve, ready to fight in the heavenlies, to protect and defend those in the crosshairs of sin and Satan’s, and to invade every space and life with the Truth and Love of the Gospel.
Christ is the only way to defeat this intensification of sin — and the only source of true freedom.
