2024 Mission One Philippines
From June 25th to July 9th, 2024, the team will be immersed in the vibrant tapestry of Valencia City, a place where resilience and spirit define the human experience. Nestled amidst the lush greenery of the Bukidnon province, Valencia City is a microcosm of the challenges faced by many communities across the globe – challenges exacerbated by poverty, natural disasters, and limited access to essential resources. Join us to bring hope and provide needed assistance to the Rescue 1 Philippines team!
Andrea’s Story
“I legit woke up crying this morning. It’s my first day at my new career. Because of Jesus and the healing I got through Uprise and Rescue 1 Global, I get to live my life to the fullest. I am so grateful.”
Andrea was just a kid in foster care, feeling lost and abandoned. Every day was a struggle, not knowing when she was going to be abandoned again. When she aged out of the home she was in, she was exposed to exploitation. She was vulnerable, looking for a sense of belonging, and they took advantage of that.
For years, she lived a life of fear and shame, trapped in a cycle of exploitation that seemed never-ending. But deep down, she held onto a glimmer of hope that one day, things would change.
Then came the turning point. Andrea found Jesus and he led her to Rescue 1 Global. We offered her more than just a way out—we offered her a path to healing and restoration. Through support and guidance, she rediscovered her worth and learned to dream again.
Today, as she steps into her new career, she carries with her the lessons of her past and the strength of her healing journey. She is no longer a victim; SHE IS A SURVIVOR. She says she will continue to live her life to the fullest, grateful for every moment of freedom and hope.
Sabrina’s New Life
Sabrina and her two daughters had finally found a glimmer of hope amidst the shadows of their past. Moving into transitional housing marked a new beginning, a fresh chapter in their lives untainted by exploitation and the lure of drugs. With determination etched on their faces, they embarked on a journey of rebuilding, each step a testament to their resilience and strength.
The walls of their new home echoed with laughter, replacing the silence that once spoke of pain and suffering. Sabrina, once haunted by the ghosts of her past, now found solace in the embrace of her daughters. Together, they painted their dreams on the canvas of tomorrow, weaving a tapestry of hope and possibility.
As they settled into their newfound sanctuary, Sabrina is taking small steps towards independence, participating in job readiness and training to not only sustain them but also nourish their aspirations. Her daughters, too, bloomed like flowers in the sunlight, their laughter ringing through the corridors, a melody of newfound freedom and joy.
Their journey is not without challenges, but with each hurdle they overcome, their bond continues to grow stronger. Sabrina instills in her daughters the values of resilience and determination and teaches them that no obstacle is insurmountable, and no dream is too big to chase.
In their small corner of the world, Sabrina and her daughters are rewriting their story, turning the page on a dark past and embracing a future filled with promise and possibility. They are not just building a new life; they are reclaiming their identities, standing tall as survivors, ready to face whatever tomorrow brings with courage and grace.
