The Ultimate Freedom Story
We read about freedom, dream about freedom, and rejoice in the notion of freedom. We teach, advocate, and hope for freedom. But what do we mean by freedom? “Freedom” means many things to many people. “Rescue” means many things to many people.
“Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.” John 8:34
Today, we celebrate Christmas. We celebrate because this is the day rescue and freedom became possible. Over 2000 years ago a baby was born, and his purpose in coming was to set us all free! Even his name means He Saves – JESUS!
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
And this is very Good News, not just for the world, but also for YOU. You can now be free from slavery, depression, addictions, loneliness, shame, guilt, and condemnation!
“For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us…” Titus 3:3-5a
So today, our prayer for each of you and every survivor we encounter is that, this Christmas, you will find the ONE who can give you ultimate freedom – JESUS!
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36
