"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:3-4
Daniel just returned from the Philippines and Thailand earlier this month. He spent about two weeks between the two countries. You may have seen that the son of two key teammates passed away. About 15 hours after his passing, Daniel was on a flight to the Philippines to help comfort and console our teammates. After delays, missed flights, and a total of 56 hours of traveling, he arrived early Sunday morning and was able to join in the celebration of life for Sean, visit with the grieving family, encourage the team in practical ways to be with, support and serve the family through this difficult time, and Daniel also shared the gospel during two different services and God moved many to a deeper commitment and some to repentance. Due to covid and health restrictions, Rescue 1 Global has not been able to enter into the Philippines to visit or be with our Filipino team.
What we didn’t share publicly, was just a few days after Daniel’s return, a volunteer lost their daughter to Dengue Fever. Sadly, over the course of the last six months, death and sickness has claimed ten lives in our Philippine branch. We ask that you help us pray for the recovery of our team. They are mourning and grief-stricken.
Even though the reason to go was sad, it turned out to be a great trip. Daniel and Al Stephen, his brother-in-law, were able to connect and participate with the Rescue 1 Global: Philippines team in evangelic missions around the island. The Philippines’ Leadership Team was able to meet with local churches and organizations, as well as develop future Mission1 trip plans. Learn more about Mission1 and how to join a trip in April 2024.

After Daniel’s time in the Philippines, he left for Thailand. While there, he was able to give extra encouragement to our missionaries: Mike, Tami, and Alena. They are currently in the north studying language and culture so they can assimilate into the culture, be able to share the Gospel, and also strategically plan for the prevention, rescue, and restoration of trafficking victims and survivors. Daniel was able to meet with our R1G: Thailand national team to strategize, plan and lay the foundation for the ministry expansion in Phuket, Thailand. We will provide more details very soon about our new location in Thailand. So, stay tuned for our 1 Summer Series as we share all that God is doing in our ministry teams around the world.
